Born and raised in the small town of Quincy, Florida, Reuben Harrison is the sixth child in a family of five other brothers and two sisters. His father and mother both worked for the state of Florida and much of Reuben’s work reflects his admiration for his parents’ service and dedication. Reuben’s original dream was to become a professional radio talk personality, but his aspirations changed with the transition of his father at the age of 15.
Reuben was a member of the United States Navy for 8 years. These years helped him to grow into the man that he is today. Reuben was able to mature as a man and travel the world, and see things that opened his eyes to view the world as larger than the community that he came from. During this time, Reuben developed the gift of giving back to people, and serving mankind became an ideology that would continue to shape his life. In 1999, Reuben made the transition from the US Navy to QuikTrip.
Advancing through a series of seven promotions, Reuben’s leadership has grown, and he continues to lead many initiatives that have proven to benefit and impact multiple areas within the business and it’s employees. Reuben is responsible for executing corporate plans, and ensuring that his division is consistent with the company’s standards of operations and core values. He also oversees the company’s expansion and new development within the market. In 2019, that expansion and new development produced five new facilities and another eight are projected for 2020. During his more than 20 year career, he has been instrumental in developing and growing leaders. An accomplishment that continues to serve and guide the company into its future. He continues to mentor and lead his team of seven supervisors in producing quality customer oriented professionals who exemplify excellent service to all with every visit. Instilling his personal work ethic and spirit of giving in more than three thousand employees is his professional goal.
Reuben lives in Douglasville, Georgia where he and his wife of 15 years Deneatrice, are raising their daughter Paige. Witnessing how his service to the community positively affects his family provides the extra motivation to continue on this path. “Helping others truly helps you” is a motto by which Reuben continues to live. Reuben also serves as coach for flag football of his daughter’s team, and he loves volunteering at her school for many programs and events. In his personal time, Reuben enjoys playing golf and running.
